Fair Trade Organic French Roast Whole Bean Coffee

I have a cup or two of espresso every morning. Normally I use a medium roast as dark roasts are a little to bitter for me. But I decided to try this dark roast. It is good, not great. Has a nice thick crema, which is important to me. But it tastes more like a medium roast to me and it does smell great.

My husband and I are coffee snobs. We are surrounded by coffee fields and love going and picking up beans that were roasted that day. With that said, this is not bad. For a bagged coffee, it is deep and dark and lightly acidic... only slightly oily. We made this in a french press and it tasted great. Now, its not as awesome as getting fresh roasted beans on the same day, but its pretty good for a bag with a rich aroma and its organic- loved that... Cost is very reasonable. We pay the same price for 1 lb of beans whereas this is 2.5 lbs.

I loved the smell when I first opened the bag; a strong, toasty smell that I hoped would stand up to brewing, and I wasn't disappointed. I add cream to my coffee, and yet the taste of the coffee came through loud and clear without any harsh or bitter undertones. I really enjoyed sipping this cup. Additionally, that it was organic and free trade made me feel better about drinking it and happily support. Highly recommend this coffee

This is good quality coffee, and the organic and fair trade aspects are definite bonuses. The bag is sturdy and reseals well, so seems that it will do a good job keeping the coffee beans fresh. As for the taste, my husband likes it more than I do, but that's simply a matter of him liking a dark roast more than I do. In other words, it actually is a dark roast as described.

This is my first experience with Corner 1 coffee, and I would definitely consider purchasing it in the future. The flavor of this French roast is rich and chocolatey, with a bit of a fruity background. There is no hint of staleness that is often there with store brands. The only critique I have is that there is a hint of burnt flavor. Still, excellent beans that don't cost a fortune.
